Our philosophy when it comes to the menu is simple - Local seafood influences using the best ingredients, preferably organic, cooked with passion and presented with more than just a hint of flair. We make no pretensions with our food but rather just let the flavours do the talking.
We are delighted to recommend Joe Miller of Cove Fish who supply us our crab, lobster and some wet fish. Although crab is harder to come by during summer months the summer brings on succulent hand dived Lulworth scallops and plenty of fresh Jurassic coast Mackerel. All seafood is subject to availablity.
Food & Drink Dorset 2010 reviewed August 2009
'The inn offers a wide choise of cask ales, cider, lagers and soft drinks as well as an extensive wine list with serveral available by the glass. We chose our starters from both the fixed menu and the specials board. My partner opted for spicey chorizo sausage and prawns with a cider and shallot sauce, with warm crusty bread to soak up the juices, while I was enthrawled by the crab hot topped with local cheddar cheese. The flavours packed into both dishes were a promise of the deliciousness to come. Dave recomended trying a selection of his dishes as a main course and we were not dissapointed. we had a great big dish of moules mariniers featuring rope grown scottish mussels, then we sampled some of Dave's own hand made smoked haddock sausages with dijon mustard and a hint of parmesan, served with a poached egg. Finally we enjoyed Cornish tuna fishcakes, made with line caught tuna fished in a sustainable dolphin friendly way, accompanied by spicy potato wedges and a tomato and onion salsa. What a treat. We finished our evening with an expresso and latta both from fair trade products and reflected on the superb location, super service and superior meal the inn had provided'
